PREPARE YOUR DEPARTURE

When you have left your room or plan your sudden check out - Please make sure to leave your room empty and follow the instructions we share in below.

Brought your keys with you after departure?

When there is no or a small chance you return to Amsterdam before the end of your lease (or corrected final lease date) - we ask you to send your keys to our office by mail asap:

Please attache a note with your room-address number of your lease with us and your full name.

In what state should you leave your room/apartment?

  • All personal items should be removed. Only the items on the inventory list (and possibly the give away/welcome box) remain in the room.
  • All your bedding from the welcome package must be removed as well. (the only thing on the bed is the mattrass)
    • Using the special re-usable starter KIT bedding at Fraijlemaborg? Please leave them in the corner of your room to be re-used.
  • All other items and your garbage may not be left in your room, the communal areas or hallways.
  • If you brought in furniture or other large items that cannot be disposed off with the normal garbage, make an appointment with the city cleaners to have it picked up free of charge (020 - 5519555).
  • Return your keys to De Key caretaker(mailbox) when you departure before the (corrected) end of your tenancy. 

Any violation of the above rules can lead to a fine which will be deducted from your deposit! 


 

Cleaning a shared room

If you live in a shared room, you and your roommate are responsible for cleaning the room together. All possible costs when a shared room is not clean are going to be divided between you and your roommate.  We advise you to clean everything together before the first roommate leaves.

Cleaning shared facilities

If you share a kitchen, bathroom or toilet, you and your roommate/neighbor(s) are responsible for cleaning these together. All possible costs when these areas are not clean are going to be divided between you and your roommate/neighbor(s). We advise you to clean everything together before the first roommate/neighbor leaves.

Inventory

Make sure all inventory items are cleaned, assembled and visible for inspection. Report broken or missing items at least 2 weeks before your leave. The costs of dirty, disassembled, missing and/or damaged items on the day of the inspection will be deducted from your deposit. If you live in a shared room, you and your roommate are responsible for the inventory together. All possible costs are going to be divided between you and your roommate.

Bicycles

Please remove your bicycle from the bike shed or leave it unlocked for easy removal.
