Home sitting

Occasionally, you may need to be away from home for a long period of time. In some cases, it is possible to allow another person to live in your home on a temporary basis while retaining all your rights as a tenant.

You may request permission for a home sitting when:

• Both you and the home sitter are enrolled as full-time students in MBO, HBO or university education in the Amsterdam region. 
• You don't have a temporary lease.
• You can have a home sitter for a minimum of three months and a maximum of one year.
• You don't have rent arrears.
