Your building uses the Keyless system from iLOQ. That means that, after you have registered your phone, you will open all the doors you have access to with your own phone.
You will not receive any other keys, all you need is your phone.
What does the process look like?
- You register as student at the Key
- Prior to your arrival you will receive an email to register your phone. The keys will be active during your stay, and will expire automatically.
- You can open all general doors, and your own apartment door. Some general doors will initially be openend via a PIN code. The PIN code can be found in the My Keys ares in the app after you have registered.
Open and close the locks, step by step:
- You need to open the 'De Lieven de Key app'. With an Android phone make sure your NFC chip is 'on'.
- Your phone makes contact with the lock through the NFC chip in the phone. So in order to unlock (or lock) the door you need to bring your phone to the black knob. They need to touch. Make sure that you do that with the part of the phone where the NFC chip is located.
- When the connection between phone and lock is made, wait a few seconds in order for the lock to open. It will show on the phone when ready. Do not move the phone.
- Now you can manually open or lock the door by turning the black knob.
Don't worry if it seems difficult. It's not!
But like most things, you need to do it once or twice, afterwards it's simple, and you will never need those bulky metal keys in your pocket anymore.
Note: The first few weeks of your stay you need to open the main entrance using the pin pad, see the link below. This door will be added to your phone access later this year.
