Lock Out Service (€)

• This lock out service is available outside office hours, 7 days a week.
• The service costs are 65 EUR, once you call them to come your way for help (extra surcharge possible, see information below).
• Lieven De Key office, RA's and Student Caretakers cannot help you with a lock out.
• VMB does not provide new keys, they can only give you access to your room.

The VMB Locked out service is available when:

• You are the tenant of the room/studio (BE AWARE: the tenant must be present in person!).
• You are at your building.
• You can show an official ID* 
• You can e-mail a copy of your tenancy agreement to VMB Lock out service.
• You are willing to pay the cost (minimum amount €65.00)**

If you have lost your keys, use the lock out service to regain access to your property. Then visit the page LOST YOUR KEYS via the link at the bottom of this page. VMB does not provide new keys!

LOCK OUT SERVICE STEP BY STEP:

STEP 1: Call VMB Lock out service (see call button below)

• Please give your full name, address, date of birth and telephone number and inform VMB about the lock out.

  • If you're calling with a friend's/neighbor's phone because you left your own in the room, please provide them with the phone number you're calling from as well!

STEP 2: E-mail your tenancy agreement to VMB Lock out service. (see form below)

STEP 3: VMB will make an appointment with you (usually within 90 minutes).

• Once VMB arrives, you (the tenant) must provide an ID.
  • If VMB can't find you, they might try calling your cell phone. We therefore recommend you inform them of a phone number you can be reached on at that moment.
• After the ID check, VMB will let you in.*

* Official ID:

Passport or European ID card. When your ID is in your room/studio VMB will ask a few questions to check the information on your tenancy agreement. By giving the correct answers you will still have to show your ID afterwards.

** Payment

• The lock out service costs €65,00. If you are not present at the agreed time, the costs can be higher on the basis of an hourly rate of €65,00.
• The lock out fee must be paid to Lieven De Key. Lieven De Key will send you an e-mail with a payment link a few days later. The lock out service must be paid within 48 hours.
• A payment reminder will cost an additional €10.00 per reminder.
• The lock out fee is non-negotiable and non adjustable.
