Unfortunately, mice are a fairly common problem in Amsterdam. They also appear occasionally in most of our buildings. Fighting mice almost never succeeds completely. It is only when residents and Lieven De Key Short Stay Student cooperate, that we can usually achieve an acceptable result.
We want to emphasize that the cooperation of all residents is a requirement for achieving a largely mice free accomodation. That is why we ask you to discuss a mouse problem with fellow residents and to address each other when you notice irresponsible behavior.
These are the most important tips for keeping the mice out.
Keep your home and the communal areas such as the kitchens clean. Throw away trash frequently, never let any accumulate!
If you do not feed the mice, they are less likely to come.
Maybe they found an easy way in, such as underneath your counter in the kitchen? If that is the case, you can contact our customer service. They will set up an appointment with our technician to close off any holes
Lieven De Key can take care of this part if the residents have met the conditions above.
Cats are not allowed in Short Stay student homes. However, in certain buildings, where we accommodate long stay and short stay students together (Bijltjespad, H. Cleyndertweg, Kattenburgerstraat, Meer en Vaart, Weesperstraat), we tolerate cats because we have noticed they make a positive contribution to the control of mice.
