How does it work?

Your phone is the key to your room. You use de Lieven de Key app to unlock your door. Click here for more information.

How do I register my phone to be able to use it as a door key?

Two weeks prior to your arrival you will receive an email to register your phone to enter the building. 

How do I open the lock/ knob?

The lock does not open automatically you have to turn the black knob to the right or left. Depending if the lock is on the left or right of the door. Check the explainer video!

Can I access my room  for the first time outside office hours?

From the day your rental period starts you can access your room day and night. So you will not have to check-in and can open your door at any time you arrive.

Where can I find the Pin Code for the common area doors?

After you have registered your phone you can find the weekly changing pin code by clicking the "My Keys" button on the front page of your app once you have selected your building. Click here for more information.

Do I need an internet connection to open my door?

No, you do not have to be connected to the internet to open your door. If internet is very limited you can also switch to "flight modus" to open your door.

How do I know the dates that I have access to my room?

On the main page of your building you find the button "My keys". Here you can see from when till when you have access. This information is only visible once your phone is registered.

I do not have the ACCESS button on the right bottom in my app.

f you do not see an ACCESS button your registration is not succesfully completed. Please register your phone via the registration page. The access button will appear after you clicked the ILOQ links in the Emails you receive after registering succesfully. Click here for the bullet proof registration guideline if you still have problems.

I see ACCESS DENIED or ACCESS FAILED when scanning.

When you know the exact NFC location on your phone and you scanned while keeping your phone in the correct spot for 4 seconds and you still get ACCESS DENIED. Then try syncing your keys by going to settings (bottom left), activation and clicking on the SYNC KEYS button. Then try again to open your door. Click here for more info.

My phone ran out of battery (charger).

You can charge your phone at the phone charger located in or near the building.

  • At Bijltjespad - Kattenburgstraat you can use the charger at the Prins Hendrikkade 189.
  • ​At Bold (Bercylaan) the charger is located behind the second entrance door.
  • At the Fraijlemaborg you can charge in the entrance on the right after entry.
  • At the Poeldijkstraat the charger is located by the mailboxes.
  • At The Prins Hendrikkade you can charge in the mailbox area.
  • At the Prinsengracht the charger is located on the left after entering the main entrance.
  • At the Sarphatistraat the charger is at the purple entrance, on the right side after entry at the right when going in.
  • At Zuiderzee weg, in the Wash&Go area, door 90S, next to washing machine number 35.

Can I buy a new phone and register this phone?

Yes at any time you can register a new phone via the registration page in the app for your building. The last device on which you register is the one that will work. you can register only ONE device.

Can I change the SIM card in the phone?

Yes, you can change the SIM card, your phone will still work as the key. So you can register your phone when you are still in your own country and change the SIM card when in the Netherlands.

Can I get a second mobile key? 

Yes via the KEY FRIENDS option  in the MY KEYS section you can share a key with a neighbour or friend.

Is it safe?

All your information sent over the internet is encrypted. Besides encryption multiple other safety measures are used to make sure only people with a registered device can open a door.
